Haha the Golf is a great car. My first car was a mess! An 1995 Opel Corsa in the most ugly light green colour. My dad wanted to pay half as a present, but only if it was that one. His mechanic friend had helped him find it... It was actually an okay car to drive but damn it was ugly! Easy to spot in a parking lot though
Amazing! An interfering dad and his mechanic friends - can you ask for more?
My first car was a ford escort '84. Really great car to drive, however, i am lucky that my father in law is a mechanic. I sadly had to say goodbye to the "beauty", but it was to expensive to fix. I had full ventilation as there was a big hole in one of the doors due to rust. We are actually rebuilding an old VW Golf II, which hopefully will be ready to drive during this year.
Haha precisely! It was epic :P
My first car was a 1956 Mercedes Benz Type 121 190 Sedan, I paid £20 in 1966, I had it for 2 months...until I got a knock on the door from the Boys in Blue asking me to return it to its rightful owner (it had been stolen) after that the log book came with the car I loved that car
Oh what a shame! :/
Wow I would have bought it as well if somebody offered my that Benz! It is an amazing car. Must have been a good two months anyways
Mark 1 Ford Capri lol loved it at the time.
Well fond memories of my first car that Mum and Dad bought me. It was Hillman Minx Series II, RPA 267 E thats right a 1967 in Ford Nevada Beige. I ended up doing a lot of modding to it using a Holby 120 block out of the Hunter GLS, oh the glory days lol.
Was many moons ago, and was a 1964 Rover 2000 TC in grey with red leather interior
My first car was a Mitsubishi Colt 1.3 from 1992I had it four years and only had it repaired once!Amazingly solid starter car
Mine with fond memories was a minivan, it had an 8 port head, was my mothers? and have no idea where the conversion originated from, Speedwel/Ripspeed comes to mind but cannot be sure.It was so fast in town streets and winding roads, shat all over the big Jags and Fords in it's day, a sheep in wolf's clothing, understeer was gr8, if you had only driven rear wheel drives you were in trouble.Apart from the gearbox you could repair/maintain the drop gears were an issue but workable, modify at little expense and without the need for a computer scientist to attend, all in all great fun at an affordable cost.Bought several other Minis after this from scrap merchants and totally rebuilt them from scratch, what an education/experience.Went on to work for Santa Pod Raceways with Bob Phelps.
My first car was a 1952 Hillman Minx,as a surfer in those days the best thing about that car was it's heater, all electric so you did not have to run the engine for it to get hot BUT it would flatten the battery if you ran it for a long period, but it was just the job in the winter after surfing at Polzeath.
Hmmm, a Morris 1100 1965 (C reg). It was only five years old, but in the 70s a five year old car was well past its sell by date!. Anyway, come MOT time the garage used a fork type car lift that raises the car by the body, of course, the front and back sub frames remained on the garage floor........ Next was a MkII Ford Cortina.
1995 fiesta Encore 1.3 it was slow (well very slow) but i enjoyed the raw basicness of it no electric windows no power steeering and no abs, That car taught me alot about driving On a good note it ran on fumes too haha :')I had debadged it and had a drilled airbox with a K&N panel sounded good too Sad to see it go to to be honest
